The stand that our member Franco Fabbri designed for this one occasion was without doubt the most admired, if not the most beautiful one of the whole fair. The giant photos which in a semicircle crowned the magnificent red B24 spider in the center retraced most of the history of that model that this year celebrated its first 60 years! The display panel showing 240 small scale models of the Aurelia spider, the total production of that variant, each painted in the original colour of the body and the interior, and additionally divided in left hand and right hand drive, fascinated the general public as well as spider owners.
The small vertical displays showing diverse models, literature and special tools and pieces that glistened like jewelry gave a touch of class worthy of the best car collections. The suitably displayed photo panels covered the story of the car as well as that of its famous owners, its appearance in movies, a picture with Brigitte Bardot as well as photos with great champions of the past such as Castellotti or Villoresi, and finally photos with royalty such as Prince Rainier on the first lap of the Grand Prix de Monaco in a B24 spider.
13 new members joined the Registro during the fair and if promises are kept many more will join in the next months. It was also a great moment in which we could celebrate suitably the 30 years of the Registro and look forward to further successes.
